A rogue and a thief, Robin of Locksley is no hero. He’s an idea man who’s long been looking for a way to hit the “jackpot.” When he and Jonny go into Nottingham town to pick a few pockets, and they hear the townsfolk crying out against the Sheriff’s latest tax-hike, Robin gets his big idea. “His plan is to take the money and run,” says librettist Tony Cobb. “And it all works out just the way he planned it–until, of course, the woman comes along.”
Robin Hood, The Musical is the story of a man who must discover what the true jackpot is. And when he does, he sacrifices all for that jackpot, and truly does become a hero….whether he wants to or not.
Robin Hood will be opening at the Kamas Theater May 15th and will play through May 25th. Directed by Pam Lockwood and starring Scott James as the cunning Robin and John Cobb as John Little, his friend and conscience.
Karrol Cobb is a seasoned composer with a number of full musicals to his credit. He has been composing for over 20 years, having worked extensively with librettist Pam Lockwood on such projects as The Medicine Show, The Light Express and The Three Princes, as well with brother Tony Cobb on Robin Hood, The Musical, Parables, The Heart of a Prince and The Promised Land. Robin Hood, The Musical premiered in Las Vegas, June 2007.
Tony Cobb is an actor, writer, producer, director, and recipient of several national film and writing awards, including two Telly Awards, the Aurora Award, the Communicator Award, and Winner of the Telluride Independent Screenwriting Festival.
